Emily Garcia: Undergraduate Research Experience with SURF
Description
Emily Garcia was a visiting fellow from University of California, Berkeley. She was a 2019 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF) at Purdue University. Emily's project, Reducing Potentially Avoidable Hospitalizations for Long-Term Care, identified risk factors associated with 30-day hospital readmissions among long-term care patients and focused on building a prediction risk model in order to improve long-term care outcomes in Indiana. She worked in the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering with mentors Paul Griffin, Ping Huang, Zachary Hass and Yuehwern Yih.
2020 SURF Applications are due February 1, 2020.
