Chelsea U23 assistant coach Eric Ramsay delivers an exclusive coaching course for The Coaches’ Voice Academy. His session covers how to build up play under high pressure. He coaches his team to build up in a controlled way, to find the spare player in an attacking overload, and to react immediately to losing possession.

The first practice is a 4v2 possession-transfer game that introduces key technical components for the session. The second practice is a position-specific possession-transfer game, in which two back fours and two midfield players attempt to keep possession under high pressure. The final practice is a small-sided game in which a goalkeeper, a back four and two midfield players attempt to play around the opposition’s front four using switches of play.
