10 BIG-TIME Coaching Candidates The Dallas Cowboys Can Target To Replace Jason Garrett As Head Coach

Jason Garrett is on the hot seat and could be fired by Jerry Jones at the end of the year. So who could the Dallas Cowboys target to replace Garrett in 2020? There’s a long list of targets, but who are the biggest names to pursue? The Cowboys might not land any of these coaches, but why not try?

Sean Payton of course leads the list. But will he leave for the Cowboys, despite his connection to the franchise and Jerry Jones, after signing a massive extension with the Saints? What about Lincoln Riley, who knows the Jones family fairly well?

There are several sitting head coaches the Cowboys could try to target, even though a trade might be needed. Bill Belichick and John Harbaugh would be awesome, but would they come to the Cowboys and leave awesome situations? What about Sean McVay? He’d get an upgrade at quarterback.

The Cowboys coach candidates could also include College head coach. Jim Harbaugh has had success in the NFL and might be the best fit for the Cowboys. And what about two of the best coaches: Dabo Swinney and Nick Saban?

Former college coaches like Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops could be getable, although it’s fair to wonder if they want to head to the NFL. Neither has coached at that level.
