The Los Angeles Chargers announced on NFL Black Monday that they have fired Anthony Lynn after 4 seasons as the Chargers’ head coach. The Chargers coaching search begins and will focus on someone who can get the most out of QB Justin Herbert moving forward. NFL rumors and Chargers rumors will start to heat up around who the next head coach of the Chargers will be. Top candidates include Brian Daboll, Eric Bieniemy, Jim Harbaugh and others.

Chargers head coaching candidates list feature some notable names like Eric Bieniemy, Brian Daboll, Joe Brady and Josh McDaniels. It seems more likely that the Los Angeles Chargers would want to target an offensive-minded head coach to work with Justin Herbert. Some defensive-minded candidates include Robert Saleh who’s done a great job as the 49ers defensive coordinator.

The firing of Anthony Lynn was a small surprise as some believed that the Chargers would give him a 5th season in LA after a 4-0 finish to the 2020 NFL Season. Lynn went 33-31 as the Chargers head coach, but missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons. Now the Chargers must shift their focus to 2021 as they put together a brand new coaching staff.
