Proven coaches should be high on Ole Miss’ head coach candidate list and there are several who make sense. They are at smaller schools, but Memphis’ Mike Norvell and Appalachian State’s Eli Drinkwitz have done solid work. So has Tulane’s Willie Fritz and Louisiana’s Billy Napier. And what about more dark horse names like Charlotte’s Will Healy and UAB’s Bill Clark?

Ole Miss Football could go with a coordinator hire, and one in particular makes sense: Clemson CO-OC Jeff Scott. One more wild card name: LSU assistant Joe Brady.

Luke is an Ole Miss guy through and through: he played for the Rebels and spent almost his entire career at Mississippi. He was only making $3.1 million as head coach, meaning his buyout won’t be that high and the Rebels can probably increase their spending.
