Description

Lots of you like the Ringke Fusion X. I do as well. I like the overall design and it has all the features that I’m looking for in a case when it comes to general usage.

It’s a great case if you’re decent with your iPhone. And by decent I mean you don’t drop it alot. Even if Ringke does show you a picture of their product smashing through the ground…

The only thing I don’t like, and this leans more towards personal preference is that there is way to much stuff going on with the case.

At MREH, Monty and I base our reviews on actual usage. For this video, we decided to keep that doing that.

This Ringke Fusion X sits in the Top ⅓ of all my ranked cases. When it comes to clear cases, it comes close to being in the Top 10.

The overall build quality of the case is great. The TPU and PC parts fuse nicely together. The case won’t slide around on the back or the front and weights 29g which is light for an iPhone case. BUT for 4g’s, you can get a case that’s way tougher, the Catalyst Impact Protection which is the next case I’m going to re-review.

The Ringke Fusion X has a frosted PC back so it still lets the color of your iPhone shine through BUT hides the face grease and fingerprinting. Key word is hides. It’s still there, you just can’t see it. Other than the frost, the PC back is going to scratch under normal keys and coins usage.

The overall texture is top notch. Part of that has to do with all the stuff that’s going on with the case. It reminds me a little bit of the UAG Plasma with all it’s doohickeys and angles. Now I could gloss over the doohickey’s BUT someone at Ringke put a lot of effort into the design so let’s break it down.

There are oversized corners which help with the protection and handling of the case. These corners prop the screen even more off a flat surface and the back as well.

The edges along the screen are tapered in so gesturing on your iPhone isn’t going to be an issue AND there is an extreme taper on the edge of the case. T

Most cases only 2 angles along the edge, this Fusion X has three which means that part of the case fits really well in your hand. When you’re hold it. This design doesn’t help any if you’re picking your iphone facefirst as the thin part of the edge is too close to the table. The other case you’re looking at is the Griffin Survivor Strong and it has a similar tapered edge but it’s along the middle of the case which makes it easier to pick up.

When it comes to accessing my iPhone, I generally had no issues. The sticky tacky sound from the Ringke Fusion Clear case isn’t there and but the gap is. There’s no gap on the buttons of the Catalyst. There’s no gap on the buttons of the MOD NX. Not a big deal, just something I noticed.

Again, with all the things going on the case, one-handed usage is going to be great and if that wasn’t enough for you, the Ringke Fusion X has a lanyard attachment point. But you’ll have to bring your own lanyard.

When it comes to protection, the case is rated to MilStd 810G and Rearth proves this to us by showing us a picture of the case, in an iPhone, smashing through the ground. In reality, I think this is a 4-6ft drop height case. On the corners. Not a face first drop.

Why do I say this? There is a lot of flex to this case. Especially when you compare it to a case that weights 4g more, the Catalyst one. So the Ringke Fusion X is going to come off easier during a face first drop which isn’t great.

BUT from drop protection from normal, everyday drops?
