How to get the most out of your GMAT Enhanced Score Reports
Description
Learn how to analyze your GMAT Enhanced Score Report or ESR. When you receive your ESR you will get 10 pages of broad data. It does not give you exact questions or exactly what you missed, but it will give you context on your weaknesses, how quickly you went through the test, and what types of questions you missed.
The ESR costs $30 and you can purchase it either before or after your exam at MBA.com even if you decide to cancel your score. You can get the ESR for tests as far back as 2013. It will be available for your most recent exam taken 1-3 days after the test was completed. The best time to take a hard look at the ESR and get the most out of it will be when you are going to start to study for your retake GMAT exam.
There are five main insights you can get out of your ESR. First, you can identify signs of bad starts and finishes. Second are signs of inconsistent timing across “quarters” of the test. Third, the ESR can tell you the time spent on questions that were answered incorrectly. Fourth is anomalies in the “average difficulty” line graph. Looking at the graph can help you understand if you are missing easy questions that you could get right. Finally, you can identify any major differences by question type. If you see a significant difference, it may be a sign that something broader is going on.
Overall, learning how to read the ESR is beneficial because it can tell you what makes you do well as a test taker and about your time management, which can be valuable in helping you prepare for the next exam.
