I don't care about WrestleMania anymore | The Bottom Line

WrestleMania is less than a month away and I don’t really care. As a wrestling fan, this is the strangest thing to ever experience. You see, WrestleMania is the superbowl of pro-wrestling. It’s labeled as the show of all shows and yet, I just can’t get really excited about it anymore. This is an odd feeling because WrestleMania season used to be one of my favorite times of the year.

I remember the storylines and feuds that would be occurring for 4-6 months that would culminate in a battle at that the grandest stage of them all. John Cena vs Triple H. Rey Mysterio’s rise to the world championship. Mickie James and Trish Stratus settling their beef. Shawn Michaels retiring Ric Flair. Undertaker retiring Shawn Michaels. Triple H and Undertaker in their hell in a cell match. John Cena vs The Rock in the once in a lifetime match. CM Punk eating Paul Bearer’s ashes. The ending of the streak. Daniel Bryan winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. And Seth Rollins cashing in his money in the bank. And those are just some of the moments I can remember watching live.

There are so many other great moments I witnessed on YouTube or the WWE network like Austin refusing to tap out to the sharpshooter, Andre the Giant getting slammed by Hulk Hogan, The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin, the iconic TLC match at WrestleMania 17, and the Icon vs Icon match between The Rock and Hollywood Hulk Hogan. When I mention all of these moments, it’s very obvious that these were all legendary events that contributed to our love for the sport. It also shows that WWE treated WrestleMania as the show of the year giving us the best of the very best. Unfortunately, things have changed since WrestleMania 32.

The show hasn’t been the same since that PPV and there are a good amount of reasons I will be covering in this video that I believe played a part in ruining WrestleMania making it feel unimportant. I hope these issues can be addressed and fixed, but I highly doubt it. Not many people discuss the downfall of WrestleMania, so I thought I might as well be the person who does it.
