Pro-street Trucks
Kevin kicks things off by introducing this style, which was derived by street/drag racers. We take a look at Chris Decker’s ’67 Chevy El Camino as it was built for speed. Chris talks about his experiences of going to the races with his family and how it shaped his views on this build style. He further explains how to properly setup a vehicle to attack the track with the right gear that is needed.
Sport Trucks
As we bring up the subject that began a movement in the late 80’s, a familiar face pops in. Ellie Moreno AKA Mopar Ellie stops by with her ’14 Ram, which is a modern example of a sport truck. We dig a little deeper on why she went this direction and how she implemented modifications while keeping her truck mostly stock. Later on, she gives us a true demonstration of what her truck is capable of.
Street Trucks
Kevin heads to the docks in SoCal to meet with David Crocker as his ’56 Ford F-100 was built as a full street truck. David gives us the rundown on how he obtained this truck and how things progress on it. He further defines this style by talking about the engine, suspension and exterior modifications that have transformed this truck from an everyday hauler to show piece that can be driven.
Mini-Trucks
Owning a mini himself, Kevin drives his ’00 Chevy S10 to meet up with a fellow enthusiast. Josue “Q” Quiroz shows his ’96 Toyota Tacoma, which is what we would call a modern mini-truck. Though this style started with guys in the lowrider scene, Josue talks about the transition of this style and what defines the look. He shares his influences and why he became determined to finish this super slammed import mini. Kevin also discusses how this segment is down and how it may make a comeback in the future.
Pro-Touring Trucks
Back at Aldan American, we bring up the movement to make trucks handle better so they can be competitive on an autocross track. Kevin talks to Garrett Harmola of Aldan American about the parts required for these trucks and how their coil-overs can help others lay it all down on a track. We take a deep look at his ’71 Chevy C10, which is a bare bones race vehicle. We peek under the hood and even get the truck up in the air on a lift to get a better look at what is involved on a truck like this.
