Immune system. This video is on how to boost immune system, improve immune system and foods to boost immune system.

SHOULD YOU BE TAKING A VITAMIN SUPPLEMENT:
I’m seeing so many online advertisements right now from companies trying to promote the sale of their supplements which claim to boost your immune system and loads more.

I just want to confirm to you that these vitamin supplements claiming to boost your immune system are warping the truth. There is no evidence that they do this, there is no evidence that these supplements such as Vitamin C, Zinc or any other supplement can protect or prevent you from COVID-19 no evidence whatsoever.

I think these companies who are trying to make money out of what’s going on right now should really be ashamed of themselves.

Most people can get all the vitamins and minerals they need from a health balanced diet - Vitamin D however in the UK it is recommended by the department of health during autumn and winter. There are a very small number of individuals who will need supplementation and their healthcare professional would have advised them to do so.

HOW MUCH SLEEP SHOULD YOU GET:
If you are an adult try to aim for between 7 to 8 hours consistently every night.

Those aged 16 and under more sleep is required visit the following link for more information:

REGULAR EXERCISE:
You need to be doing regular moderate intensity exercise aiming for a 150 minutes per week. And I know it can be a little tricky right now because the guidance is for everyone to stay at home.

But this does not mean stop exercising there’s loads of things you can do at home to help maintain a healthy immune system. I actually made a video a few weeks ago on losing weight and home exercises which I think will be quite useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3jJ29oE8Zg

The NHS also have some great ideas for exercises you can do at home: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/gym-free-workouts/

HEALTHY BALANCED DIET:

STRESS LESS:
There’s lots of research showing that stress can dampen our immune system so we really need to try and stress less. Social distancing doesn't help either because when were alone and isolated we do tend to experience higher stress levels.

So it’s more important than ever that you stay in touch with friends and family via phone, FaceTime, email - to get some social interaction talk about your worries talk about your day and this is all going to help with those stress levels.
