Description

Burfi is a most popular Indian Sweet which is made with Chhana & Sugar. Lot of patience and practice is required for making perfect Burfi. So I made an instant burfi which doesn’t take much time & the making process is quite easier than the traditional one. This holi try this colorful Burfi.

INGREDIENTS -
1/2 tsp saffron strands
1 tbsp hot water
3 tbsp clarified butter
1 cup milk
2 cup milk powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Orange Food Dye
Green Food Dye
Blue Food Dye
1 tbsp pistachio (roughly chopped)

INSTRUCTIONS -
1. In a small bowl, add a pinch of saffron & 1 tbsp warm water.
2. Cover with aluminum foil & set aside
3. Heat clarified butter in a pan. Add milk & bring it to a boil
4. Add soaked saffron & sugar & wait until the sugar dissolves.
5. Add milk powder & stir continuously For about 7 – 10 minutes
6. The mixture starts thickening and starts to separate from the pan.
7. Turn off heat, Divide the mixture into three equal portions
8. In one portion, add orange food dye. Mix until the dye gets incorporate.
9. In another portion, add green food dye. Mix until the dye gets incorporate.
10. In the last portion, Add blue food dye & mix well
11. On a non-stick parchment paper, add green mix & make a square block.
12. On top of green mix, add orange mix & flatten with spatula.
13. Lastly, add blue mix.
14. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Cut slices
15. Garnish with chopped nuts.
