Last Week @ The Auctions….Episode 2 of Season 1….& America's Hottest New You Tube Series!
Hosted by Me, Josh Levine…. Actor, Appraiser, Auctioneer, Cheerleader, Comedian, Consultant, Humanitarian, Politician, Realtor, and former Rockstar but do you know my current vocation ????…..the unemployed Vlogger ? It's my Top Ten List of Auction Highlights from Around the Globe, or as I like to call it….
Last Week at The Auction. And this week's list is nuts…..people were spending boo koo…..
Let's count down to the craziest shall we….Casey Casem Style…….
Coming in @ #10 It is a ROYAL DOULTON FIGURINE of HENRY VIII….
And the reason i point this guy out….. it may just be a sign of life in the collectible figurine world
….it had an Estimate $400 - $800 and at Whitley's in Florida sold it for $1,250….that's pretty cool….so what's #9 ? #9 is a Polished Schrader 5 bolt diving helmet and I just thought this was cool…and it selling for $11,500 was awesome…
The folks at Nation's Attic Inc. in Wichita Kansas had to be happy with that great auction.
Now Number 8…..its a 28 'Great Star' American Flag that Sold @ Freeman's in Philly…. this Flag, commemorating Texas statehood, circa 1846, was quite a pleasant surprise when it sold for $68,750
….lucky #7 Bertoia's, in Vineland NJ, sold this SANTA ON POLAR BEAR GROWLER TOY……….. this one's on my list because I've had this toy before. Mind you several years ago and I am sure I sold it on eBay….it had what I would have thought a high estimate at 3,000 - $4,000 but this baby sold for $36,000….gotta give it to Bertoia again for setting the toy world on fire with their results. They are featured again later on my list as they've been killing it again, as usual. So lets just keep going…..#6 Louis Vuitton X Supreme Travel Trunk from way back in 2017, in a limited edition Monogram and featuring silver hardware brought ! ………$125,000 …You can't live in this stuff people….anyway Christies crushed this sale that featured all things couture....and of course there were some 6 figure handbags….duh.........So to #5….The team at Kodners sold this Tiffany & Co, 5 and a ½ ct Diamond Ring which I am sure is going to make 1 hell of a Engagement, slash Christmas, slash Anniversary, slash Just Because, or he was caught cheating, Gift…..and to the Lady that is getting this….he IS a keeper….and pssst….btw way (he paid $281,750 after Buyers Premium…..And at Over quarter Million Dollars ladies, he also might be crazy…..or just rich…or loves you so much and has to express himself thru material possessions because his mother didn't love his father and never forgave him for not being a good enough provider…..so enjoy that gift and thank his momma….Shake it off….#4 Another auction house you will most likely hear me talk about a lot is John Moran….they always have great pieces and great results….this 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190SL Convertible was adorable….and at $95,000, I think everyone was happy….buyer, seller, auction house.
On to #3 …..We have A Classic Tiffany Studios Dragonfly Lamp (it's the 20" Desk Model) which Michaan's (me,shawns) in Alameda California had the pleasure of offering this beauty with an Estimate $75,000 - $90,000 and always, Tiffany Lamps perform ! It Sold for….$150,000. And what is that at #2 ? ….a glorified giant music box….known as the Orchestron, this rare example by M. Welte & Sohne …. Called the Style 3 "Cottage" Model Sold for…..$190,000 also at John Moran's
….they've had a nice run of auctions. Now I know I said, that it was a glorified music box but its truly a mechanical marvel….did I mention that baby stands at 9'6 and is almost 6 foot wide…..i am still just in awe of the result….$190,000 ! Breathe….But coming in at #1 Oh look, it s a cute little toy boat….Now sure…… it's a Marklin Clock Work Battleship and….. of Museum Quality….. but are you ready for it…..$170,000 ! Again, Bertoia in Vineland NJ continues to inspire, not only with the toy auction results but finding these rare gems….I chose to feature this at #1 this week as I love toys, plus the price was crazy and………… because I can heather….thank you as always for tuning in to my channel….Please subscribe and share with your friends so I can keep bringing you the latest greatest news from the Auction World….& as always, we will be talking vintage, retro, steampunk, antiques and unique….All things from this crazy picker, hoarder, yards ale storage & pawn subculture….
I hope you love it as much as I do….
