Ruptly is live outside London’s 10 Downing Street on Tuesday, December 17 as PM Boris Johnson is set to hold a cabinet reshuffle following the General Election in the UK.

On this day, the UK Parliament is also set to resume its activities. After electing a Speaker, members of the house will take the oath of office in order of seniority and then term-length. Parliament is then set to be formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, December 19.

The Conservatives secured 365 of the 650 seats in the House of Commons in Thursday’s election, the party’s biggest victory since Margaret Thatcher’s win in 1987. With a meaningful majority now assured, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stated that his government will pass his EU withdrawal agreement “before Christmas” and “get Brexit done.”
