Macron, Erdogan Trade NATO Barbs
Description
Dec.03 -- NATO leaders are meeting in London today. The Trans-Atlantic alliance holds its 70th anniversary summit amid doubts about its mandate. U.S. President Donald Trump is demanding that Europe pay more for its own military protection. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron is ruffling feathers too. He’s called NATO “brain dead” amid a spat with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over Syria. On top of this, the U.S. has proposed $2.4 billion of tariffs on French goods in response to the tech tax. Bloomberg’s Maria Tadeo reports on “Bloomberg Surveillance.”
