With a special Mother’s Day message, guest speaker, author and justice advocate Danielle Strickland, reminds us that Mother’s day is complex because it’s easy to fall into the greeting card version of motherhood and pretend that things are different than they are. But life is not always like that. Isaiah 49:15-16 asks an important question and then offers us an equally important answer. Can a mother forget the child she has born? Even though we want the answer to be no - the answer in the real world is - yes. But EVEN THOUGH she may forget - I will never forget you - I have carved you in the palm of my hand - you are mine! God is the ultimate mother. The deepest human needs all of us will encounter are to be known, to be loved and to belong. And mothers meet that need.
