Qld researchers leading race for COVID-19 vaccine
Description
One of Australia’s top scientists says researchers at the University of Queensland are leading the race for a COVID-19 vaccine.
Professor Ian Frazer told the Australian Academy of Science on Tuesday that the University of Queensland was on track to developing a vaccine, with the current trial drug dubbed “S-clamp”.
The trial - which has already demonstrated it can prevent disease in animals - could start human trials as early as mid-2020.
