There are a lot of misconceptions about owning a restaurant or food business. On one hand, the media has made it out to be all glitz and glamour. As if you become the celebrity in town. But that's far from the case. And the internet has made new restaurant business owners focus on the sexy stuff - the marketing and cool campaigns - right from the get go. Instead they should be doing everything in their power to nail down their foundations and getting the right product market fit. So they make the mistake of thinking they need to spend the money and hire a restaurant marketing agency and do all these fancy campaigns and tactics at the start...

TO BE CLEAR: If you're brand new food business with not much budget and have not proven that the market likes your food and service...I do not recommend you hiring an agency to run your social media. Like I said - more marketing (and marketing in general) will not solve your business foundational issues. It will only make it worse by getting more people to experience mediocre food and mediocre service, which equals bad reviews and word of mouth.
