TOP 10 ALL-TIME: NCAA Division I Women's Field Hockey

Since 1981, @NCAA women’s field hockey teams made 2,134 goals and competed in 523 matches. With this kind of history, a top 20 all-time ranking for this sport is revealed at the end of the video. Each score represented is based on their performance all-time relative to No. 1.

Data was compiled based on all head-to-head matches in every year of the postseason only. The algorithm is computed through an incremental rating system with appropriate adjustments. The methodology for the algorithm is as follows in order of importance:

• Number of wins in competition
• Performance of the team to each opponent
• Outplacements of ranked teams in the years prior
• Number of appearances in the postseason
• Consistency of the team in the postseason

The algorithm will remain private in anticipation of the many years to come for this sport.
