Top 10 Christmas Sales Tips - Mindset
Description
What's the mindset of a salesmen?
For most it's a loser. It's weak. It's compliant. It's apologetic. It's an Oliver Twist, bowl in hand, please sir may I have another mindset.
Listen to how salesmen speak or watch them behave in sales meetings. How often do you hear "May I" "Can I" "Just let me" "I'm sorry for.." "Is now a good time" "Yes of course we can" etc
The language of someone who is scared of upsetting the person they are talking too or meeting with.
Or, they go to the other extreme and are arrogant and boorish.
They seem to struggle finding that middle ground.
But that's where we want to be. We want to sit across from a prospect or be picking up a phone knowing that if the person we are engaging with has problems we can fix, they should be grateful I am even there. You see, I know I have the solution, which means you Mr Prospect need to convince me why I should help.
Sure, you have money, but I don't care.
Money only has power if the seller gives it power. Money is uselss if it can't buy what it needs or wants. As a salesman I am the guardian of that need or want.
Thismeans I don't have to act, speak or behave like Oliver Twist. On the contrary, it enables me to behanve in a very relaxed, comfortable and curious manner.
