(We’re aware that some people might have a different “definition” of what counts as a gangster film, however just to clarify in advance, we haven’t included films such as ‘The French Connection’, ‘Touch Of Evil’ or ‘Chinatown’ as we don’t really consider these to be gangster films.)

For more than 80 years, the gangster genre has fascinated the minds of millions across the globe. The following is our list of the 10 best classic gangster films. Now, our definition of "classic" for this list is any film made prior to 1990, so movies like 'Goodfellas' and 'Miller’s Crossing' won’t be featured here, however, we’ll be making a list for those films next week, so make sure you hit the SUBSCRIBE button.
