The Dallas Cowboys 2019 season has been a major disappointment. The Cowboys coaches have blame there, but plenty of players have not lived up to their expectations. Among the most disappointing players for the Cowboys this year are Jaylon Smith, Zeke, Chidobe Awuzie, Leighton Vander Esch and DeMarcus Lawrence.

Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch were supposed to be the best young duo at LB in the NFL. They have not been that this year, even before LVE’s injury. So what’s wrong with them and why is the Cowboys defense struggling?

Chidobe Awuzie and Xavier Woods were young, on-the-rise players, but Awuzie has regressed and Woods has plateaued. How worried are you about them?

The Cowboys offense has been better than the defense, but they’ve got issues too. Ezekiel Elliott isn’t as productive as he once was, with the Cowboys offensive line struggling in the running game. That goes for Travis Frederick as well, who isn’t the same guy he was in 2017. And Tyron Smith has regressed this year as well, but should Cowboys fans be worried, or not yet?

The Cowboys generally draft well, but that’s not the case for Trysten Hill so far. He’s barely been able to make an impact, despite lower expectations. He’s not the only defensive lineman on the list, as Maliek Collins has failed to break. Many are upset about DeMarcus Lawrence, and that’s understandable, but he hasn’t been nearly as bad as people might think.
