Top 10 Reasons Why Donald Trump Must Buy Greenland
Description
The U.S. tried to buy Greenland again, but a 1946 offer to the Danish government fell on deaf ears, even though the island housed only about 600 Danes at the time. President Trump is upset that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called his interest in purchasing Greenland “absurd.” Her dismissive response should have come as no surprise. Trump has better reasons to buy Greenland than the Danes seem to be able to understand. It is the Danes who are keeping the Greenlandic people on welfare, in poverty, and in a bandage. Greenland has enormous unexplored stores of natural resources, including zinc, lead, gold, iron ore, diamonds, copper and uranium, that Denmark has been unable or unwilling to exploit. The United States and its allies have a major interest in not allowing these Arctic sea lanes to fall under Russian or Chinese control, something that Nordic countries are never able to grasp. Here are the top 10 reasons why Donald Trump must buy Greenland:
1. Greenland harbors some of the rare earth materials, including terbium, uranium, and dysprosium.
2. Greenland has a strategic American airbase: the Thule Airbase is not a Danish base.
3. Donald Trump should consider a trade embargo against Denmark if they don't accept the offer or respect the USA.
4. The Danish society has failed Greenlandic people for generations and they have failed to integrate these Inuits into Danish society. Many Greenlanders struggle with alcoholism and racism from Danish society where many Danes have low expectations narrative towards the Inuits - they are treated like children.
5. This idea is not outlandish, funny enough, there is even an immigrant music band in Denmark called Outlandish - that's another story of the case. On a serious note, America bought Louisiana from France, they bought Florida from Spain, they bought Alaska from Russia, etc; those folks did not die.
6. He can go around the U.S. Congress, which is in the hands of weak Democrats and weak Republicans.
7. Denmark needs the United States more than the Americans, who could decide not to need Denmark.
8. Greenland has struggled to gain its independence from Denmark.
9. Donald Trump would treat Greenlandic people with respect and dignity and Capitalism creates more jobs than Socialism.
10. Russia and China are also interested in the strategic location in the Arctic. Whether you like it or not, the nexus between the U.S. Canada, Russia, Denmark, and Norway creates tensions.
