The highly transmissible Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 has mutated further to form the ‘Delta plus’ or ‘AY.1’ variant. The new Delta plus variant has been formed due to a mutation in the Delta or B.1.617.2 variant, first identified in India and one of the drivers of the deadly second wave.

The already deadly Delta variant led to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, it also delayed UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson delayed plans to lift pandemic curbs until July 19 due to a surge in the delta variant.
The latest BS6-compliant big bike to hit the Indian market is the BMW S 1000 R, which has just been launched with prices starting from Rs 17.90 lakh. That’s the price for the Standard variant, while the Pro version costs Rs 19.75 lakh and the range-topping Pro M Sport sits at Rs 22.50 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India). Thousands of farmers, mostly from Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh, began their protest in November at three different border points of Delhi, demanding that the Centre repeal these laws. The demonstrations at Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur borders also received support from social activists, some political parties as well as locals.

Edtech giant Byju's has become the most valuable startup in India after raising about $350 million in a new tranche of investment from UBS Group and Zoom founder Eric Yuan, Blackstone and others that valued the Bangalore-based firm at $16.5 billion (post-money).
