Watchmen episode 9 was a great season 1 finale and may be the end of the series. The finale answered a lot of questions, and left with some mysteries to think about. We got an ending to Jon Osterman’s time as Dr. Manhattan and his love story with Angela Abar aka Sister Night. We saw Adrian Veidt return to Earth from Europa, and saw his daughter Lady Trieu try to destroy Dr. Manhattan and take his powers to save the world.



Watchmen episode 9 gave us a conclusion to Will Reeves aka Hooded Justice’s quest to destroy Cyclops. Senator Joe Keene Jr. and the Seventh Kavalry had their own plan to destroy Dr. Manhattan which was foiled by Lady Trieu. In the process the leaders of Cyclops and the Seventh Kavalry were killed in front of Wade Tillman aka Looking Glass and Agent Laurie Blake aka Silk Spectre II.



In the Watchmen season finale Ozymandias, Looking Glass, and Laurie Blake were teleported to Karnak in Antarctica where they were able to save the world. Adrian Veidt used his squid shower machine to rain down frozen squid and stop Lady Trieu from becoming Dr. Manhattan. Angela was able to talk to her grandfather about his journey, and she found an egg that might turn her into Dr. Manhattan when she returned home. This made for an ending that leaves the door open to continuation and a possible Watchmen season 2. Series creator Damon Lindelof talked about the ending and future plans which we explain in this video.



HBO’s Watchmen takes place 33 years after the events of the graphic novel. Season 1 episode 9 stars actors Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gosset Junior, Andrew Howard, Yayha Abdul-Mateen II, Frances Fisher, Jean Smart, and more.

Watchmen on HBO will have Damon Lindelof for a showrunner. His most recent show was The Leftovers which also aired on HBO.



Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons is considered one of the greatest comic series of all time. Originally released as a 12 issue series from 1986 - 1987, it was collected as a trade paperback or graphic novel. It takes place in an alternate history where masked adventurers or superheroes exist. The Watchmen feature film was released in 2009 to mixed reviews. Fans of the graphic novel are hoping the HBO series will do the story justice.

HBO is releasing a new series that takes place in the Watchmen universe in present time. The events of the original Watchmen comics all happened, and events in the TV show have all been influenced by those events. Original characters created by Alan Moore and David Gibbons will be returning to play a role in the series at an older age. We also see a TV show inside the Watchmen TV show called American Hero Story: Minutemen. This is a callback to the Tales of the Black Freighter comic inside the original comic book series. We explain the new footage and easter eggs and what they might mean for the Watchmen universe in 2019.
