In the six months since COVID-19 first spread in the United States, we have been through different strategies to fight it as we have learned more about this virus. The virus is a single-strand RNA, it’s relatively easy for scientists to find a vaccine or a cure. But the hard part is being ready for it in terms of your individual health. Dr. Bart presents ways to fight it that are timeless strategies supported by cutting edge science.

What did we learn from 6 months of COVID?
The 1st thing we learned is: Your health is the #1 asset you have. Have you done something clearly different since this has started? If you haven’t made changes, draw a line in the sand and never look back from today.

The 2nd thing we learned is: You can’t run and hide. That is not a strategy. Running and hiding never makes you healthier.
In the past few months, we’ve heard about social distancing and mask, and that’s good in the immediate, but long-term, we have to rethink how we treat our bodies.
When COVID first hit in March, we were told to flatten the curve. This did not mean fewer people would get sick, it means that the number of sick people would not overwhelm the hospitals. Then we started to get more feedback. 85% of the patients who died were elderly.

The 3rd thing we learned is: We must level up. Right here right now.

How to do it:

1- Get more data. We can get more data about ourselves than ever before thanks to IoT devices.
We heal in our sleep, so we need more and better sleep. Devices like smart rings and watches can track that. Measuring your heart rate variability measures how well your body is doing. We need that data because as entrepreneurs, some of us have “knucklehead syndrome” where we just brute force our way to our goals and don’t realize we’re screwing ourselves in the long run. Measure your steps, your sleep, and your heart rate variability, and you will know if you are healthy or not.
You can even go further and get your blood and other fluids tested for all of your health markers

2- Have a healthy diet. If you get sick, you are a burden to your family.
You cannot be well if you don't clean the cell. Here is the diet I use, and I call it the “God’s Garden Meal Plan: “If it comes from a root, plant, or tree; if it walks in the garden or swims in the sea: eat it!” If you track your net carbohydrates and keep that number under 70 every day. Your body can process up to 70 grams of carbs per day, and anything more than that gets converted to sugar, which causes inflammation and fat.

3- Don’t die.
What I mean by that is that not living is the same as dying. Give yourself permission to go all in on life.

If you take care of your body, you will have the strength to fight the disease. There are no guarantees, but taking care of yourself you will be an asset to your family, not a liability.
