In this video I talk about body position for street riding. Just because you learn how to do this, and you should, doesn't mean you HAVE to do it every turn or ride. It's beneficial to know the benefits of correct body position but you many not need to do it every ride. An easy way to think about it is "Body, Head, Bike" getting your body to the inside of the bike. Lower body movement for street riding is 100% unnecessary. Just head turns and upper body movement can be helpful. One of the main benefits is the bike will be less leaned over..so you'll have more ground clearance. Next, since the bike is more upright, the suspension can better deal with the imperfections of the road, causing you to have more traction. This is very important if you're about to go over an obstacle or gravel or water mid-turn...you add body position aka get the bike more upright, you'll have a better chance to deal with the obstacle. Go out and practice!!
My vision is to inspire riders to wear full gear, take courses, and practice in order to reduce crashes on the public roads.
