Cowboys News: Mike Nolan To Become Mike McCarthy’s Defensive Coordinator In Dallas; Scheme Change?

In more breaking Cowboys news, new head coach Mike McCarthy will hire Saints LB coach Mike Nolan as the Dallas Cowboys’ next defensive coordinator. With Nolan coming, Kris Richard and Rod Marinelli are out, so is a scheme change away from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 defense also coming?

Nolan is a long-tenured NFL coach with stops for 10 different NFL teams, including being San Francisco’s head coach from 2005-08. McCarthy was Nolan’s offensive coordinator for the 49ers, so the two have worked together before.

Nolan has helped lead a strong New Orleans defensive as their linebackers coach since 2017 under defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.
