I believe that we should aim to combine different speeds, rep-ranges, and amounts of resistance in our training. In other words: don't just train super heavy, and don't just train with high volume... do both! This challenges the body in entirely different ways, and by combining these strategies you'll build more "complete" or "dynamic strength." You'll be ready to adapt to any situation life throws at you. What's more, is that these different types of training help to support one another, meaning that you get extra benefits from each of them as a result.
This is a quick 10 minute push up routine that demonstrates that concept. It combines overcoming isometrics, explosive plyometrics, heavy one-armed repetitions, high rep regular push ups, and slow quasi-isometrics. Enjoy!
