Description
Thinkin' about baked goodies perfect for your breakfast, brunch or afternoon tea at home? Light and fluffy scones might be the right one for you. It seemed hubby has mastered the art of baking scones for me ( His way, simply ) for me so i'd better share it with you guys! Homemade, light, fluffy and savoury scones for your delight!
As a Filipina married to an Irish, I never used to understand the obsession and appeal of scones. But when I took a bite of a truly great one, that’s where I realized how delightful scones can be. Here’s how hubby made his light, fluffy and savoury scones.
So here ‘s how it’s made, chances are you might already have all these ingredients. Just as easy as 1,2,3!
Preparation time is just less than 30 minutes!
INGREDIENTS:
500 grams of self raising flour, sifted
50 grams of butter
1 cup of milk
Raisins (optional )
1 egg ( Egg wash ) to just glaze the top of the scone. (Or you can opt to use milk )
METHODS:
1. Sift the flour into a bowl to get rid of lumps.
2. Put in the butter. It should come out as a crumbley texture.
3. Add sufficient milk enough to make a soft dough.
4. Add the desired amount of your dried fruits, this time we used the Raisins. You can also opt to use dried sultanas, cranberries or cherries whichever you prefer.
5. Roll out lightly for an inch thick, on a floured board to gently remove any cracks.
6. Cut them into circles. Place on a tray sprinkled with flour or with a parchment paper the brush it with the beaten egg ( Egg wash ) or milk.
7. Pop it in straight to the 220'c preheated oven and leave for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.. 8. Let it cool down for few minutes, served with butter, jam and a fresh cream..what a delight!.
