Description

I don't want to cause you any alarm, but Seth Curry (who, I should remind you, is an undersized shooting guard and isn't even tall) is currently leading the ENTIRE frickin' LEAGUE in true shooting percentage.

Screw it, let's all get alarmed right now. I am alarmed as heck. In fact, I am so alarmed by this revelation that I have activated the "alarm klaxon" that I have in my apartment. So now I've got strobing red lights and insufferably loud sirens blaring, but it's totally necessary because there's no way that Curry should be leading the league in that stat. He shouldn't even be top 10.

Side note: if you try to be a funny guy and call my "alarm klaxon" the "alarm alarm", I will personally come over there and sever your internet cables with a katana.

I don't even know what true shooting percentage is, all I know is that it's supposed to be a combined measure of all your shooting statistics, and that the upper echelons of the stat belong to lob-catching centers and elite three-point specialists. Maybe this alarm klaxon is interfering with my ability to think clearly, but I never considered this Curry brother to be "elite" at anything. His brother? Yeah, elite at stuff. But not Seth. Seth is supposed to be a guy who can shoot threes good.

It's not even close, folks. Curry's TS% is at 79.6%. In second place is Jarrett Allen at 73.7%, almost six percentage points behind. In the past decade, only two players have finished above 70% true shooting: Tyson Chandler and Mitchell Robinson. Curry is not just an elite shooter right now, he's ultra-mega-super-duper-saucy-elite. His conventional shooting numbers, which are plain stats that I mostly understand, tell the same picture: 60% from three. 60% from the field. Hasn't missed a free throw yet.

Yep, looks like this klaxon is going to be wailing nonstop for a while now. Hopefully Japurri doesn't mind.
