The Next 10 - Sega Genesis | CGQ+

Almost exactly a year ago I made a video called "The Next 10 - TurboGrafx-16" in which I read off a crowd-sourced list of top 10 TurboGrafx-16 games, and then talked about what my "next 10" would be. That was a lot of fun to do, so now I'm back to do it again with the Sega Genesis. Obviously the Genesis has a much larger library than the Turbo, so instead of a top 10 list, we're going to look at a top 25, and then I'll go through my "next 10" again. This wasn't easy to do, because while 10 games is about 10% of the TurboGrafx library, even 25 games is only a little over 3% of the Genesis library. So this means that there were a LOT of good games that didn't make the top 25, but I wanted to make sure that I got to talk about my favorite games, and not just titles that I thought "deserved" to be on the list.

Last time I talked more about the Turbo and how I got into collecting it and whatnot, but I've talked about the Sega Genesis extensively on the show, and I knew that this was going to be a long episode no matter what so I just wanted to get right into it. Anyone who watches the show knows that the Genesis was the system that I had in the 16-bit days, and as you might expect some of my favorite games are the ones that I had back then.

I know I said it like twice in the video but seriously, HUGE THANKS to "Ian in the Sierras" for putting together the top 25 list for me.

- I had to export this video three times, and upload it twice. Partially because I was in a hurry to get it done and didn't properly check everything, and partially because I think my editing software hates me.

- I don't really trust PriceCharting.com because I think it over-values things based on the highest sales prices it finds, but at least according to that site, if you wanted to buy CIB copies of every game that I talk about in this video, it would cost you over $2,000. How times have changed!
