TOP 70 Moments from Hong Kong Disneyland in the 2010s

Hong Kong Disneyland has gone through a decade of time, and a lot of things have changed since its opening in September 2005. So I would like to recall what has happened through the decade from 2010 to 2019:

2010:
1. Star Guest Program (March 19th to May 23rd)
2. Stitch & Friends Summer Hangouts (June 11th to Aug 29th)
3. Sep 12th marks 5 years of HKDL.
4. From Sep 16th to Oct 31st, Disney In The Stars Fireworks was temporarily replaced by Disney Nightmare in the Sky.
5. On Oct 31st, Disney On Parade closed.
6. On November 19th, Duffy the Disney Bear made his historic debut.
2011:
1. It’s A Small World’s Holiday closed on Jan 2nd 2011.
2. Flights of Fantasy opened on Jan 18th.
3. McQueen made his first appearance on June 9th, 2011.
4. Then on October 4th, The Headless Horseman made his first appearance.
5. November 18th marks the opening of Toy Story Land.
2012:
1. Grizzly Gulch opened on July 14th 2012.
2. Grave Academy, a Halloween walkthrough made its debut.
3. On November 15th, a new Christmas Tree, the thin one, opened.
2013:
1. Mystic Point opened to the public on May 17th, 2013.
2. Mickey’s Waterworks closed on Sep 1st.
3. Iron Man Experience is announced to be built on October 8th.
4. Glow in the Park and Ghost Galaxy attractions closed on Oct 31st, 2013.

2014:
1. Hong Kong Disneyland announced to build the third hotel, Disney Explorers’ Lodge on Feb 17th.
2. Due to the construction of Iron Man, HKDL Railroad was suspended from 17 February.
3. On October 1st, Paint The Night opened.
4. On November 13th, Anna and Elsa made their debut.
5. ShellieMay has also made her first appearance on the same day.

2015:
1. Disney Explorers Lodge broke ground on Jan 5th.
2. HKDL Railroad returns to normal on June 29th.
3. Frozen Village opened on June 11th in the Pavilion. The attractions ran til October 4th.
4. The historic Golden Mickeys bids a fond farewell to guests on July 26th.
5. On July 27th, A Star Wars Fan Parade held by Star Wars Fans was held at Hong Kong Disneyland.
6. On Sep 11th, the park introduced the celebration, as well as Castle Projections for the first time on Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.
7. From October 2nd to 31st, Curse of the Emerald Trinity operated.
8. On November 17th, marks the opening of Mickey and the Wondrous Book.
9. Fairy Tale Forest opened its gates in Fantasyland on December 17th.

2016:
1. Hong Kong Disneyland introduced its first Easter event on March 17th.
2. The UFO Zone closed down on April 5th 2016.
3. Stitch Encounter and the ORIGINAL Space Mountain closed down on May 3rd 2016.
4. Autopia went “temporarily suspended” starting from June 11th, according to Hong Kong Disneyland.
5. On the same day, Star Wars themed attractions opened as part of the “Star Wars Tomorrowland Takeover”.
6. On June 25th, the Jedi Training Academy opened.
7. My Journeys with Duffy opened on July 26th at the Main Street Cinema. (Gelatoni also debut)
8. September 10th marks the very first 10K Weekend Event held in Hong Kong Disneyland.
9. Mickey’s Halloweentime Street Party and Villains Night Out during opened on September 15th.
10. On Nov 22nd, Hong Kong Disneyland announced expansion plans.
2017
1. On Jan 11th, Iron Man Experience made its official launch.
2. On March 15th, Disney Friends Springtime Processional opened.
3. On April 30th 2017, Disney Explorers’ Lodge opened.
4. Stellalou made her debut on August 10th.
5. On Aug 31st, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters closed.
6. Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball made its debut in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.
7. On Dec 7th, Comics Legend Stan Lee, made a visit to Hong Kong Disneyland.
8. The Royal Princess Garden opened at the Plaza Grounds of the Castle Hub on December 14th. The attraction closed on June 21st 2019.

2018:
1. On Jan 1st, Disney in the Stars Fireworks made its final performance.

8. Journey to HalloweenTown opened on September 13th.
9. On November 5th, HKDL updated Christmas Tree again.
10. November 18th marks Mickey’s 90th birthday.

2019:
1. Due to construction on Arendelle, the Railroad was once again closed on Feb 18th.
2. Paul Rudd attended a launch ceremony for the Ant Man attraction on March 28th.
3. Then on March 31st, Ant Man and the Wasp Nano Battle made its official debut.
4. On July 1st, a new and official Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opened in Fantasyland.
5. A meet n greet area has been added outside Ant Man on August 25th.
6. On Sep 12th, Let’s Get Wicked opened.
7. Castle of Magical Dreams has been topped off on Sep 13th.
8. Cookie was renamed as CookieAnn on October 9th.
9. Tokushima Awa Dance Performance made a performance on Nov 16th.
10. On Nov 21st, HKDL revealed Elsa and Anna’s new outfits from Frozen II.
