At tense meeting, parents express frustration, anger over racist incidents at Michigan school

Parents of Saline Area Schools students met Monday, Feb. 3, 2020 to discuss a recent incident of racism involving messages between Saline High School students on the social media platform Snapchat.

For the vast majority of parents attending the community conversation about diversity, equity and inclusion at Liberty School, the meeting was a chance to ask leaders what efforts were being made to address the racial climate within the district.

For others, the meeting was another chance to vent the frustrations their children have shared with them about the lack of diversity within the district, and how it impacts their education.
