Coronavirus outbreak: New Brunswick reports no new COVID-19 cases for 6th time 10 days | FULL

New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs and the province's chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell provided an update on Monday regarding the number of COVID-19 cases in the province, as well as discussed the government's ongoing response to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

During the briefing, Russell told reporters that the province had no new COVID-19 cases to report over the previous 24 hours. This was the sixth day in 10 days that the province did not have any new cases of the novel coronavirus to report. She also cautioned people to remain vigilant and to continue to stay home, even though the trend in recent days within the province was that fewer COVID-19 cases are being confirmed, and more people are recovering from their illness.

Russell added that as long as neighbouring provinces have increasing case counts, people must "prepare for releasing measures and then imposing them again on very short notice," which the doctor likened to a dance.

Premier Higgs discussed the fatal shooting rampage that took place in Nova Scotia over the weekend, calling it "a senseless tragedy," at the start of the COVID-19 briefing as well.
