Coronavirus outbreak: B.C. reports 12 new cases as ICU patients fall below 10 | FULL
Description
British Columbia's chief medical officer of health Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix held a briefing on Thursday to talk about the province's ongoing efforts to fight COVID-19.
Henry reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday and three new deaths, but said the number of patients in intensive care had dropped below 10 for the first time in two months. Of the remaining 307 active cases, only 43 are in hospital, with eight in ICU.
The province's top doctor did, however, report a case at a third correctional facility in the province, at the Mountain Institution in Agassiz.
She also joined her federal counterparts in officially recommending the use of non-medical masks when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
