Coronavirus outbreak: Quebec confirms 10 more deaths, total cases surpass 2,000 | FULL

The Quebec government announced 10 more deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of fatalities in the province to 18.

There were 2,021 cases of COVID-19 in the province as of Friday afternoon, an increase of 392 from the previous day.

The illness caused by the novel coronavirus has sent 141 people to hospital, where 50 people are now in intensive care.

Public health authorities are keeping a close eye on Montreal, where nearly half of the province’s COVID-19 infections have been reported.
